Jigging is a sea fishing technique involving a heavy lure dropped to the seabed and retrieved rhythmically. For catching amberjack, bonito, and other deep predators, it’s one of the most effective fishing techniques we use on the coast of Málaga.
Trolling is a technique that involves dragging lures or natural bait from a moving fishing boat. Unlike jigging, here the boat’s motor covers large areas of water to locate schools of fish. It’s the primary approach for fishing tuna and marlin on the Costa del Sol.

All our fishing trips depart from Puerto Marina in Benalmádena — one of the most complete marinas on the Costa del Sol, well connected by car from Málaga, Torremolinos and Marbella. A few hours before departure the captain sends you the exact berth location on WhatsApp, so you walk straight to the boat. Fishing near the coast of Málaga has never been easier to organise.

The boat takes up to 7 guests plus 2 crew — 9 people total, always within maritime regulations. The boat is 9 metres, wide and stable, so it never feels cramped. We use the fishing techniques that produce the most results in the Málaga Strait, adapted to the season and conditions. Bottom fishing for sea bream, grouper and dentex near the seabed. Jigging for amberjack and bonito at mid-depth in deep water. Trolling for bluefin tuna and marlin in open water. And deep sea fishing sessions that take us 5 to 20 nautical miles offshore — the best fishing grounds on the Costa del Sol. On every trip, the instructor chooses the right technique for that day and explains it as you fish. You can fish multiple techniques in a single session depending on what’s running.
Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet or salty. Non-slip trainers or shoes on deck — no flip-flops. A cap, sunglasses and sun cream are essential. In spring or autumn, bring a light jacket for the first hour on the water. Everything else — fishing gear, food, drinks is already on board

In serious cases, we head back to port — no questions asked. If you know you’re prone to motion sickness, taking a standard anti-motion tablet an hour before departure makes a real difference. The coast of Málaga has generally calm sea conditions, especially on morning departures, so it’s rarely an issue for fishing groups.
Only when conditions are safe. If the forecast isn’t right, we contact you in advance to reschedule — never on the morning of the trip without a solution already in place. If the sea isn’t right on your booked day, we find you another date at no extra cost.
