Tuna fishing in Málaga means heading several miles off the Benalmádena coastline, into deeper water, where bluefin tuna, albacore and bonito actually feed, this isn’t a coastal trip. Depending on the season and how the fish are behaving on the day, we work them with deep-sea trolling, running several lines at once spread out with outriggers, or switch to spinning and popping when tuna are feeding right on the surface near the boat.
We fish several miles offshore, in the depths where bluefin tuna, albacore and bonito actually feed — not along the coast.
Sailfish, pargo and albacore are among the big species you can hook, depending on the season
We only run tuna trips during the officially permitted fishing season, following current regulations — exact dates confirmed with you when you book.
What is Tuna Fishing in Málaga Like?
We headed several miles out to sea from Benalmádena, into deeper waters, in search of bluefin tuna and other large species
Tuna fishing involves heading several miles out to sea, to the deep waters where tuna feed, and fishing the area using deep-sea techniques until the fish bite. We go on these trips from the port of Benalmádena, with an expert captain and professional equipment.
The main technique used in tuna fishing is deep-sea trolling: we fish with four professional rods at the same time, at a constant speed, and switch to spinning or popping if the tuna are feeding at the surface, right next to the boat.
A tuna fishing trip begins with leaving the harbor, followed by locating the fish with a fish finder, setting up the rods, trolling, the strike, the fight, and, finally, landing or releasing the tuna.
Tuna fishing includes 4 professional rods, heavy-duty reels, and fighting harnesses, equipped to catch tuna, sailfish, red snapper, and yellowfin tuna, depending on the season.

Tuna fishing rewards a boat and a captain that know exactly what they’re doing. Here’s what that looks like on board
Outriggers, heavy trolling rods, fighting harness and professional-grade reels — set up specifically for tuna and other big pelagics, not adapted from coastal gear.
Our captain reads the birds, the current lines and the sonar to find where the tuna are working, adjusting technique and approach through the whole trip.
4 hours dedicated entirely to tuna grounds, at the pace this kind of fishing actually needs
Fuel, crew, guidance, food and drinks on board. No boat rental extras or hidden costs — you bring nothing but yourself.

Our tuna fishing boat is fully equipped for sea fishing with all safety guarantees. A purpose-built fishing charter vessel, fully prepared to go out to sea in search of the most productive catches on the coast of Málaga.

It means heading several miles out from Benalmádena into deeper water, where bluefin tuna, albacore and bonito actually feed — a different trip from fishing closer to shore. Trips run 4 to 5 hours, with an experienced captain reading the sonar, birds and currents to find where the fish are working that day.
No charter can honestly promise that — tuna are wild fish, and anyone who guarantees a catch isn’t being straight with you. What we can promise is a captain who’s spent years reading the sonar, the birds and the currents to put you in the best possible spot, which is what actually gives you a real shot at one.
Tuna fishing here follows the officially authorized season each year, based on current fishing regulations. We confirm the exact dates when you get in touch, so you always know you’re booking within the legal window.
Bluefin tuna is the main target, along with albacore, little tunny (bacoreta) and mahi-mahi, depending on the season and how the fish are moving that day. Which species show up varies — that’s part of what makes tuna fishing here exciting.
It depends on the length of the trip and how many people are coming, so we give you a real price by WhatsApp, call or email instead of a generic number online. Message us with your dates and group size and we’ll get back to you fast with an exact price.
Not at all. We explain everything as we go — how to work the rod, what to do when a fish hits, how to fight it once it’s on. If you’ve never fished before, that’s completely normal for this trip; if you have experience, we adjust and let you take more of the lead.
Everything: fuel, the captain and crew, all the fishing gear, plus food and drinks on board. You don’t need to bring anything except yourself — no hidden extras.
Usually, yes — catches are shared among the group, within what current fishing regulations allow. Depending on the species and the day, we might also release fish. We’ll always explain what’s possible on the day.
